To set the stage for this season’s line-up, the museum tapped a handful of New York-based makers like Confetti System and Fort Standard to create a collection of rotating immersive performance environments. These young designers are also the main focus of the Warm Up Weekend shop, which seeks to blend music, art, and design much in the same way the successful series has over the years. The weekend shop will offer an array of objects including a vinyl selection curated by the Warm Up team, objects from the New York designers and an array of hand-held instruments chosen by the Control, a Brooklyn-based music center that focuses on specialized electronic instruments like modular synthesizers. Last but not least, the shop will also carry some beach-y sundries like towels and sunscreen, making it a one-stop shop for the ultimate art world summer.
